Brazil ↔ Ukraine
For Brazilian citizens with ties to Ukraine and for Ukrainian nationals seeking engagement with Brazil, the Honorary Consulate in Brașov offers humanitarian liaison and consular signposting in coordination with the Embassy in Kyiv and the Embassy in Bucharest.
Why Ukraine contacts Brașov
The Embassy of Brazil in Kyiv remains the resident mission for Ukraine. In the current context, with significant cross-border movement through Romania, the Honorary Consulate in Brașov is positioned as a humanitarian and liaison point for Brazilian citizens and Brazil-related cases involving Ukraine — in close coordination with the Embassy in Bucharest and the resident mission in Kyiv.
The Honorary Consulate of Brazil in Brașov, Romania, is positioned at the geographic heart of South-Eastern Europe. While our formal consular jurisdiction covers Alba, Brașov, Sibiu and Prahova counties in Romania, our liaison role with the Embassy of Brazil in Bucharest and Itamaraty allows us to direct, advise, and accompany Brazilian citizens and bilateral partners across the wider region — including Ukraine.
Note: Morten Reimers currently serves as Honorary Consul Designate. The Consulate is in its pre-inauguration phase; the office maintains an active liaison agenda during this period.

Ukraine ↔ Brazil trade
Ukraine and Brazil are both major agricultural exporters with complementary product baskets — grain, sunflower oil, fertilisers, and machinery on one side; coffee, beef, sugar, and aviation on the other. Romania is increasingly the logistics corridor for this trade, and Brașov is well placed to host preparatory bilateral meetings.
Diaspora & cultural ties
The Brazilian community in Ukraine has been dispersed in recent years; the Consulate maintains an open channel for community members presently in Romania and works in close coordination with the resident Embassy and the Embassy in Bucharest on humanitarian matters.
