Travelling from Romania
- Visa — Romanian citizens may enter Brazil for tourism without a visa for stays of up to 90 days, extendable once.
- Passport — valid for at least six months from date of entry. Yellow-fever vaccination is recommended for travel to Amazonian regions.
- Flights — one-stop connections from Bucharest and Cluj via Frankfurt, Paris, Lisbon, Madrid, Amsterdam, and Istanbul to São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.
- Currency — Brasilian Real (BRL). Cards are widely accepted in cities.
- Best seasons — December–March for beaches and Carnival; May–September for the Amazon, the Pantanal, and Iguaçu.
For Romanian Travellers
Entry & essentials
- Visa — Romanian citizens may enter Brazil for tourism or short business trips of up to 90 days without a visa, extendable once for another 90 days within a 12-month period.
- Passport — Must be valid for at least 6 months from entry, with one blank page.
- Health — Yellow fever vaccination is recommended (and required for onward travel from some Brasilian regions to certain countries). Carry the international certificate.
- Connections from Bucharest — Typically via Frankfurt, Paris, Madrid, Lisbon, or Istanbul to São Paulo (GRU) or Rio (GIG). Total travel time 14–18 hours.
- Insurance — Comprehensive travel and medical insurance is strongly advised.

- Carnaval — February or early March. Rio's Sambódromo, Salvador's blocos, Olinda's frevo.
- Festa Junina — June. Rural folk festivals across the Northeast, with quadrilha dancing and forró music.
- Boi-Bumbá de Parintins — Last weekend of June. Amazonian folk opera on Tupinambarana Island.
- Réveillon Copacabana — 31 December. Two million people in white on Rio's most famous beach.
