Why Serbia contacts Brașov

The Embassy of Brazil in Belgrade is the resident mission for Serbia and several Western Balkan states. The Honorary Consulate in Brașov complements this presence by offering Brazilian citizens transiting through Romania and the Balkans — and Serbian partners active in Romania — a regional contact point for liaison, cultural diplomacy, and business introductions.

The Honorary Consulate of Brazil in Brașov, Romania, is positioned at the geographic heart of South-Eastern Europe. While our formal consular jurisdiction covers Alba, Brașov, Sibiu and Prahova counties in Romania, our liaison role with the Embassy of Brazil in Bucharest and Itamaraty allows us to direct, advise, and accompany Brazilian citizens and bilateral partners across the wider region — including Serbia.

Note: Morten Reimers currently serves as Honorary Consul Designate. The Consulate is in its pre-inauguration phase; the office maintains an active liaison agenda during this period.

Business & investment

Serbia ↔ Brazil trade

Serbia is one of Brazil's strongest emerging partners in the Western Balkans, with growing trade in agricultural machinery, raspberries, and software services. The Consulate can convene preparatory meetings in Brașov for Serbian companies preparing for the Brazilian market and host Brazilian delegations en route to Belgrade.

Brazilian community

Diaspora & cultural ties

Brazilian footballers, coaches, musicians, and capoeira instructors form a visible community in Belgrade and Novi Sad. The Consulate supports cultural events and stands ready to assist Brazilian citizens in coordination with the resident Embassy.
