Brazil ↔ Republic of Moldova

With no resident Brazilian embassy in Moldova, the Honorary Consulate of Brazil in Brașov is one of the closest Brazilian consular presences to Chișinău — and we share a common language with Moldovan citizens.

Why Republic of Moldova contacts Brașov

Brazil maintains no resident embassy in the Republic of Moldova. Consular jurisdiction over Moldova is exercised from Bucharest. The Honorary Consulate in Brașov — sharing the Romanian language and only a few hours from Chișinău — is a natural, accessible first point of contact for Brazilian citizens and Moldovan nationals on Brazil-related matters.

The Honorary Consulate of Brazil in Brașov, Romania, is positioned at the geographic heart of South-Eastern Europe. While our formal consular jurisdiction covers Alba, Brașov, Sibiu and Prahova counties in Romania, our liaison role with the Embassy of Brazil in Bucharest and Itamaraty allows us to direct, advise, and accompany Brazilian citizens and bilateral partners across the wider region — including Republic of Moldova.

Note: Morten Reimers currently serves as Honorary Consul Designate. The Consulate is in its pre-inauguration phase; the office maintains an active liaison agenda during this period.

Business & investment

Republic of Moldova ↔ Brazil trade

Moldovan wine, walnut, and sunflower exports have natural markets in Brazil; conversely, Brazilian coffee, soy derivatives, and aviation services are well-suited to the Moldovan market. Brașov is a practical, EU-based neutral venue for Moldovan companies to meet Brazilian counterparties before a São Paulo or Rio mission.

Brazilian community

Diaspora & cultural ties

A small Brazilian presence in Chișinău is concentrated around academia, religious missions, and football. The Consulate is available to support community matters and to help Moldovan friends of Brazil organise cultural and academic activities.
